I Stole My Competitors Followers And Made $52,000 In 27 Days From Them

This method is not the ideal solution for all coaches and agency owners.

If you are doing more than $30,000 per month, there are better ways to drive sales conversations by spending money.

However, if you’re struggling to break past $10,000 per month, The Shoot To Kill method can help you do that in the next month or two.

It’s the exact strategy I used to generate 61 inbound messages and $52,000 in revenue (all closed by Messenger) in 27 days.

The Shoot To Kill Method: What is it?

In order to get clients, you need sales conversations that convert at a certain %.

In order to drive sales conversations, you need to convert a lead into a prospect.

In order to get leads, you need to put a reason for somebody to become a lead in front of enough people.

The Shoot To Kill method focuses on offering something so intriguing to your target audience that they’d be crazy not to take you up on it and become a lead.

I call this a ‘RazorHook’, and it is designed to create massive curiosity with huge potential benefit.

There are 2 main elements to the STK method:

ONE: Build a list of targeted prospects email addresses.

And…

TWO: Move those prospects into your sales process by offering them something of massive value and intrigue (“RazorHook”).

If you do this consistently, you’ll have a constant flow of targeted, interested leads coming into your ecosystem for you to then convert into an inbound sales conversation.

This method works for anybody who has a high ticket offer in a B2B niche, and is able to produce a front end ‘RazorHook’ that resonates with their target prospects.

Step 1: How To Create A RazorHook.

What is a RazorHook?

Pretty much everybody has heard of a ‘Hook’. It’s the mechanism used to ‘hook’ people into your marketing funnel/campaign.

A ‘RazorHook’ is a sharper, more unique, smarter way to capture attention.

There is a HUGE opportunity for anybody who can come up with a hook that is full of intrigue and huge potential benefit, just because there is almost nobody doing this very well.

Terrible hooks today were insanely powerful 5 or 10 years ago.

Market sophistication has moved faster than marketer sophistication.

Which leaves a huge gap in the market for anybody who can recognize how to make better hooks in their marketing.

In the context of this method, your Razorhook is going to take the form of a content piece (e-book, video, article etc). Something of value that your prospect can consume.

How Normal Hooks Are Created

The commonly used method to creating a hook for most C level marketers is this… “How to get [huge end result] using [process]”

For example, let’s say that the huge end result is hitting $100k/month in their coaching business, and the process is sales funnels.

That is a poor hook, because the market sophistication level is way beyond the power of it. In other words, they’ve seen and heard it before.

How To Find Your 'RazorHook'

A RazorHook cuts through the noise because it focuses on a more tangible “pre-end” result (one that the prospect knows they need/want in order to hit the big end result), and avoids being weeded out by their bullshit filter the same as 99% of other marketing messages.

We also take 2 or 3 intriguing steps out of the process, and use that in the RazorHook, instead of just quoting the process in general.

Everybody has heard of “sales funnels” to scale an offer, but not many people will have seen a marketing message that shows you how to scale using “One YouTube ad and one 14 minute video”

Turning A Hook Into 'RazorHook' Example

In order to find the tangible that causes the huge end result, you must first know exactly what it is that your audience wants.

If you create a hook based on a huge end result that you think your prospects would kill to have… And it’s wrong, you will have wasted a ton of time and energy.

Get clear on the big end result your clients want. Then figure out the tangible “just before” result that causes the huge end result to happen.

Step 2 : Build A List Of Potential Leads

Now you have your Razorhook content offer put together, you’re now ready to build a list of email addresses to reach out and offer it to.

There are many platforms and methods out there to build lists of targeted prospects, but there’s one that has way outperformed every other for us.

Instagram.

Yep, we will use Instagram + a service for scraping emails from Insta, filtering them and compiling them into a CSV list that you can then use as your data.

There are tons of services available that can get you these leads from Instagram using this method.

Here, we'll be covering Influencers.club, but honestly you can just hire a freelancer on Upwork and get them to scrape the emails for you.

The cost of building this list will depend on the volume you want to do.

But here’s an example of how the numbers might work if you choose to use Influencers.club.

To send around 1k emails per day for a month, you’ll need a list of 30,000 contacts.

30,000 contacts * $0.035 = $1,050

Here’s the week 1 results a client from our Mastermind got out of a 30k list in the health niche sending 1k emails per day.

Avg open rate: 31%

Avg click through rate: 12%

Avg no of Sales conversations/day: 5

If this client closes really badly, and he only converts 1 out of 10 sales conversations, he will still close 3.7 deals a month (or around 7 deals over 8 weeks).

The cost to build the email list was $1,050.

His offer is $7500.

That’s around $26,250/month in revenue from a list built for $1,050.

Now, I am in no way saying that his results are typical, but it certainly opens the realms of what’s possible.

Even a 3 to 1 return would make this method incredibly lucrative.

How target your list with Influencer.club.

There’s 2 variables you should consider when putting together your list requirements.

1. Which competitors do you want to pull the followers from into an email list?

2. Which demographics do you want to filter by.

Building competitor list

Instead of targeting the followers of one huge competitor with a huge following, you should try to focus on more ‘non-mainstream’ authorities in your niche.

Ideally, you want to find 3-4 competitors with less than 100,000 each.

This is where the gold is.

If you go too generic with your competitor targeting, your list will ultimately contain a higher % of less targeted leads (a lot of followers may be bots, or people who are less passionate about the niche you are in).

Deciding on demographics for filtering.

Once you have decided on the competitors you want to target to steal the followers from, you’ll then want to filter that list based on the demographics that are most relevant to your target audience.

You can filter based on language, location and gender.

Filtering will remove 90% of the followers, and make your list much smaller, but much better quality.

If you want to build a list of 30,000 contacts, you should aim to provide Influencer.club with 300,000 to 400,000 followers to pull.

They will also clean the list prior to delivery, so you’ll know 99% of the emails will be real.

So… You now have your “RazorHook” and your list of potential prospects to offer it to. Now what?

The goal of this method is to turn cold data into leads.

Which means having the contact from the cold list opt-in to your list in exchange for the ‘RazorHook’ content you are offering.

The Outreach Email Copy

We’ve tested way over 50 variations of our first contact email to cold data, and the format below is what is performing best for us.

"Hey [first.name],

If you're trying to add more premium leads to your email list, we found a way to add round 200 per day using MailScale + a short blog post.

I wrote a quick guide showing how to set it up (only takes a couple of hours). Want to see it?

Reply here and I'll send it over."

Subject line

With cold email, this is 100% the place most people will fail. This contact has no idea who you are. The first words they see from you is the subject line.

They are busy and they are already skeptical of a cold email from somebody they don’t recognise falling into their inbox.

You absolutely have to hint towards a simple solution to a huge problem they have in their business.

We lead entirely with the potential pay off for the subject line.

Speak to audiences problem:

Now that they’ve opened the email, if they don’t see something that is not only intriguing, but also powerfully resonates with a huge problem they are having in their business…

They’ll bounce.

“If you’re trying to fix…”

“If you’re struggling to…”

“If you’re trying to get…”

If you know your audience and their real life hurdles on a deep enough level, you’ll be able to enter a conversation that they are already having in their head.

Our experience that fixes the problem.

People don’t want to be the guinea pigs for totally new ideas.

They do, however want something new and unique. Something they've never tried or heard of before.

They want to be second to test. Not first, and not last.

They want someone to have already been the guinea pig, proven the concept so that they can try it with less risk, but with the reward of being early to a new method.

Here’s how simple it can be.

The world is at an all time high with people questioning what they’ve been told. They have a bullshit filter that is beyond strict.

Every prospect, in every niche, in every place on planet earth is constantly weighing up the potential gain against the potential loss.

In this situation, their loss will be time and effort.

These guys are struggling to fix a problem. When you’re in that position, time is your currency.

We’ve already shown them a huge potential gain (if you’ve done it right).

Now we need to minimize the perceived potential loss of following your method or system.

The easier you make it for the prospect to follow your advice and succeed, the higher the chances of a conversion.

Now you try:

Of course, once you’ve got this method up and running and you're getting thousands of leads every month from it, you’ll also be nurturing and converting them into sales conversations.

The awesome thing about this system is it is scalable beyond measure.

There is enough potential revenue from a few 30,000 lists using this method to last a long, long time.

“How do I send the emails?”

There are a few different software platforms you can use that send your email out on autopilot every day. We use a combination of Instantly and Apollo.

A few important things to note…

Sending cold email is not something email platforms like to see.

If they believe a domain is sending unsolicited emails, they will ban the domain. Here’s a few things you must do before starting this:

DO NOT use your main business domain that you use for every day emailing.

Set up a new domain for every 50 emails you want to send per day.

MailScale allows you to automatically setup 50 email accounts that you can import into Instantly for sending.
